Purchased for my 24 FLTRX with 10″ KST pathfinder bars. Fit is good and install went pretty good.
In the instructions they send they do not give you one step that is necessary, if you scan the QR code it is in the second video but that video is not on this page and I was using my computer for instructions.
So first get the old cable off, I went ahead and pulled derby cover and backed off the nut and adjustmement screw. Then pulled old cable off, installed new cable and had issues with the cable being too tight to get any free play.
This is what is not in the instructions and if you do not scan the QR code you would not know. Must do this next step BEFORE making the adjustment at the primary.
Turn the adjuster all the way in (most slack in cable) then with a screw driver push the lower cable so the ramp behind the trans cover pushes all the way back, so the small ball in the inspection window is not in the center it is further down further back towards the trans cover.
Now you can make the primary adjustment, I did the 1/4 turn as they specify. Pulled the clutch lever a few times and had plenty of free play before adjusting the cable.
Put derby cover back on and now you can make the adjustment at the lever, before moving the lower cable down and adjusting I had maybe 1-2 threads and the cable was TIGHT.
After pushing the cable down and making primary adjustment I can now get the 1/16-1/8 adjustment recommended. Have around 6 full turns to be at the 1/16th adjustment and 4 for the 1/8th. It puts the clutch releasing at about 1/4 – 1/3 off the grip, much better than stock which was almost all the way out.
I had the fbi adjustment nut on before I got this cable and while you do get adjustability the stock cable was garbage compared to this one. When I got the stock cable off the bike it moves extremely gritty back and forth in the housing and is binding. I even lubed it with silicon after pulling off to see if it would help an it does not.
This new cable is butter smooth out of the box, also lubed it with silicon but don’t know if either needs it since the steel cable is coated in teflon. Also gave both ends of the cable and lower cable a good dab of the provided grease they send.
